Halloween TV Guide 2012: What To Watch From October 26-31

What To Watch This Halloween

Whether you're celebrating Halloween with a spooky Saturday party or trick or treating on the night itself, there are plenty of creepy TV offerings to keep you occupied from now until October 31.

Many of your favorite series are staging themed episodes, along with the prerequisite horror movie marathons and Halloween specials, so set your DVR, break out the candy corn and don't turn out the lights ...

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26

"Mockingbird Lane" (8 p.m. ET, NBC)
Sweet little Eddie Munster (Mason Cook) is a normal kid about to enter the horrors of puberty. Truth is, he's about to discover that for him, becoming a teenager means growing hair in truly unexpected places -- as in, all over his body -- every time the moon is full! Eddie's got it pretty good though. His loving, supportive, run-of-the-mill family includes his mom Lily (Portia de Rossi), the daughter of Dracula; his dad Herman (Jerry O'Connell), who brings new meaning to "Frankenstein"; and Grandpa (Eddie Izzard), who would give Dracula a run for his money if he weren't actually Dracula. Then there's creepy cousin Marilyn (Charity Wakefield), who's really the odd one out because she's so completely ... normal. This new, reimagined version of the classic 1960s comedy "The Munsters" is based on executive producer Bryan Fuller's ("Pushing Daisies," "Heroes") script and was directed by executive producer Bryan Singer ("X-Men" film series, "House").

"Grimm" (9 p.m. ET, NBC)
Despite the enthusiastic anticipation of the city's residents for Halloween, a series of horrifying child abductions make their way to Portland, quickly spoiling the holiday spirit. Nick and Hank join forces with Valentina Espinosa (guest star Kate del Castillo), a mysterious detective from Albuquerque, to help find and capture the elusive suspect. The more Nick digs into the case, the more he realizes the pattern of the kidnapping matches those in the famed Hispanic horror story "La Llorona," a story with its roots intertwined with his own family's history.

"Fashion Police" (10 p.m., E!)
Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne, George Kotsiopoulos and special guest host Kris Jenner don their best Halloween garb for a frighteningly fashionable good time. How will Joan top last year's costume: Suri Cruise?

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27

"Supernatural" Marathon (12 p.m. ET, TNT)
What better way to warm up for Halloween than with a 24-hour marathon of the spookiest show on TV? TNT will be running a delicious selection of The CW drama's creepiest episodes from across the first six seasons, including "Monster Movie," "Mystery Spot," "It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester," "Provenance," "Crossroad Blues," "The French Mistake" and even the pilot. (There's also a brand new episode airing Halloween night on The CW.)

MONDAY, OCTOBER 29

"Scare Tactics" (7:30 p.m. ET, SyFy)
Host Tracy Morgan returns for this special marathon of all-new episodes of "Scare Tactics," the hidden camera show with a sci-fi twist that pulls outrageous pranks on unsuspecting friends and family. In the season premiere, singer/actress Brooke Hogan makes her "Scare Tactics" debut as a ravenous zombie. Elsewhere, sexy witches convince a handyman to help them in an off-kilter ritual and a repo man tries to avoid being turned into a human doll by a deranged shut-in.

"Friday the 13th" Marathon (8 p.m. ET, AMC)
Starting on Monday night and stretching all the way through Tuesday, AMC is marathoning every "Friday the 13th" movie through to "Jason X" as part of their annual Fear Fest. If you want to spend a little (or a lot) of quality time with Jason Voorhees, it doesn't get much better than this.

"90210" (8 p.m., The CW)
Liam, Navid and Dixon go camping and when Liam goes missing in the woods, Kendall (guest-star Nicole Paggi) seizes the opportunity to alert the media to find him. Meanwhile, Naomi plans a romantic getaway with Max and runs into Ryan Lochte along the way.

"Hawaii Five-0" (10 p.m. ET, CBS)
It's Halloween in Hawaii and the clock is ticking when a gristly murder leads the team to a ritualistic killing, and evidence suggests that the killer will soon strike again.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30

"13 Nights Of Halloween" Movie Marathon (12:30 p.m. ET, ABC Family)
As part of its annual movie marathon, ABC Family has a spooktacular line-up of films from midday through to midnight, including "Poltergeist" 1, 2 and 3, "Edward Scissorhands" and "Beetlejuice."

Fox Comedies (8 p.m. ET)
"Raising Hope," "Ben and Kate," "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" are all tackling Halloween-themed episodes, though basically, that just means a lot of crazy costumes and not much spookiness. The highlights: "New Girl" focuses on Jess getting a job as a zombie at a haunted house, while "Ben and Kate" sees Kate trying to embrace her sexy side with a daring costume.

ABC Comedies (9 p.m. ET)
"Happy Endings" only offers a brief hint of Halloween at the episode's start, but the gang's joint costume is so hilarious, it totally counts. Things get more Halloween-y in "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23," when June discovers that Chloe plays elaborate Halloween "tricks" every year and becomes consumed with stopping her before Chloe really hurts someone she might actually care about. Meanwhile, due to a deep-rooted childhood fear of Halloween, James throws his annual Halloween "Positivity" Party.

NBC Comedies (10 p.m. ET)
"Go On" sees the group staging the "Alice in Wonderland"-themed Halloween of Yolanda's dreams after she decides she's ready to leave therapy. Then, on "The New Normal," Bryan is getting into the Halloween spirit by doing what he does every year -- decorating the house so that it is the envy of the neighborhood and making his annual trip to the pumpkin patch with his bestie Nicole Richie to spot celebrities. Also, with the help of the "Sing" make-up artist, Sam (guest-star George Takei), Bryan dictates what everyone's costumes are going to be.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31

"LIVE's Halloween Party" (9 a.m. ET, ABC)
Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan spotlight many of the year’s biggest pop culture headliners, including Honey Boo Boo, the New Jersey “Tan Mom,” “Long Island Medium” Theresa Caputo, Oprah Winfrey and new mom Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. Plus, with the presidential election less than one week away, the Obama and Romney campaigns also will receive the “LIVE” Halloween treatment, and many more surprises are in store. To keep the excitement pumping, “Jersey Shore’s” DJ PAULY D will provide the soundtrack as House DJ for the day, and “Brand X” star Russell Brand will get in on all the fun when he appears in costume for the occasion.

"The Addams Family," "The Addams Family Values" And "Hocus Pocus" (3 p.m. ET, ABC Family)
ABC Family finishes their "13 Nights of Halloween" with a kid-friendly trio of classic Halloween movies to keep the whole clan entertained.

"Halloween" Marathon (4 p.m. ET, AMC)
Not quite as comprehensive as their earlier "Friday the 13th" marathon, but still fitting -- "Halloween," plus "4," "5" and "Resurrection" will air to close out the network's Fear Fest.

"It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (8 p.m. ET, ABC)
In the 1966 half-hour animated special, The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween, with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party.

"Face Off" (9 p.m. ET, Syfy)
The special effects makeup competition holds its live season finale as a Halloween special.

"Chicago Fire" (10 p.m., NBC)
Chief Boden is accused of leaving a homeless man to die in a warehouse fire, while Hermann's temper flares during a rescue call at a Halloween block party.
