James Gandolfini Street Art Pops Up In New York City

A Street Art Tribute To James Gandolfini Pops Up In NYC

It seems like every nook and cranny of New York City 's streets is quickly turning into a Banksy canvas. Thankfully, there are still a few instances of other street artists breaking through the Banksy madness. One example being Banksy's celebrity-obsessed prankster disciple, Hanksy.

Hanksy's newest piece, which popped up on the corner of Orchard and Grand Street, is a tribute to the late, great James Gandolfini. Hanksy transformed the "Sopranos" patriarch into a more mythical version of himself, uploading the piece to Instagram with the caption "One bada bing to rule them all. Gandalfini!" We're sure J.R.R. Tolkien would approve.

In addition to the Gandolfini ode, Hanksy has also been busy uploading likely fake but still hilarious iMessage exchanges between himself and Banksy. Although we're skeptical, we'd love nothing more for the witty banter to be an authentic interaction, and hope Banksy is a stodgy British man who fancies tea and cronuts.
