There are so many chores to attend to in life, it can seem to be laborious. Things like paying bills on time, clearing up our home or office, hanging up clothes, etc. However, when those important duties are amiss, we leave a trail of unfinished messiness behind us. Therefore taking care of all the details is imperative if we wish to remove stress, anxiety and selfishness. Dealing with aspects of our life, that we'd really not have to bother with, is an essential part of our personal growth. So much so, it can help us to be a much better version of who we are. Moreover, it brings us closer to becoming the person we aspire to being.

You may be thinking, "What has this got to do with me?" Well, my response to that is lots. Because when the details in our life are either forgotten, or we choose to ignore them, they tend to come back to bite us. That's because in my experience, there's not much we can get away with without it being noticed. By whom? You may ask. By someone, and that someone might even be you. So, ask yourself, "What detail can I attend to today? One that I've been putting off, or avoiding." It doesn't have to be anything big, it could be updating your address book, or perhaps buying new shoelaces.

The point of taking care of the details, is to free oneself of mental clutter, and an often over stuffed to-do list. Moreover, we leave a space for creative thinking and are able to raise our self-esteem. When we do things that we'd rather not have to do, we give ourselves a morale boost, also a lift in the self-confidence department. In essence, when we feel much better about ourselves, we release dopamine, affectionately also known as the "happiness hormone." Also, we greatly improve the opinion we have of ourselves. Fact is, one of the reasons I'm writing this blog is to free my mind of feeling guilty for not writing a blog last month. Now as I feel I've attended to that detail, that detail is taking care of me.

My advice is to start relatively small. Like most challenges in life, when we try to bring about a quick fix, by jumping in and then hurriedly and impatiently rushing through the process, we usually regret it afterwards. So ask yourself what it is it you can do today, tomorrow or this week that will attend to a detail, that will enable you to feel a sense of achievement. If you do decide to take action in the realm of helping yourself in this way, like an addiction, it'll become so compelling, you'll look forward to taking care of even more details in your life.

Here are some details:

*Attend to one small outstanding detail this week

*Make a list of the details that you need to pay attention to

*Do not beat yourself up for previously putting off not taking care of the details

*Know that you are just like most other people.

*Taking swift action, as it's very self-empowering

*Focus on what you can and will do, not what you've not been able to do

*Take steps that enable you to know that your personal growth is entirely up to you
