An intriguing Malibu home built by renowned architect Harry Gesner is listed for $7.895 million.

The contemporary house has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, and is conveniently situated right on Malibu's Encinal Beach. It was built in 1960, and retains its groovy architectural charm without looking dated. The living room has a fireplace and wrap-around walls of glass. Indeed, many rooms in the 3,331 square-foot home have plentiful glass panels, elegant curved features, and wood panel ceilings that lend warmth to the airy space. There's a delightful outdoor patio, but the most exciting feature by far is the stunning ocean scenery.

This beach house's organic and sleek design fits entirely within Gesner's impressive oeuvre. A longtime surfer and proponent of environmentally friendly design, he has designed and built over 100 structures, reports Vanity Fair. Gesner's Wave House, built in 1957, will seem familiar to many, as it is the inspiration for Jorn Utzon's Sydney Opera House. And among other notable projects, Gesner designed Marlon Brando's Tahitian estate, according to Dwell.
