Harry Reid Praises Kirsten Gillibrand's Looks: 'The Hottest Member' Of The Senate

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave some awkwardly timed and very forward admiration to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) at a New York City fundraiser Monday, when he directly referred to her as the Senate's "hottest member."

Speaking at an event held for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Reid began to mention the state's junior senator by talking about how "many senators are known for many things," a source relayed to Politico's Maggie Haberman. He then added, "We in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member."

According to the report from Politico, Reid's blunt tribute to Gillibrand caused her to blush, and made a slight commotion in the audience.

Politico later reached the Reid campaign for a response:

"What can I say, she made The Hill's Most Beautiful list," the spokesman said. "Of course he also went on to praise her skill and tenacity and described her as an effective member of the New York delegation as well."

Gillibrand's allure was indeed celebrated by The Hill in July, when they named her the third "most beautiful" person on Capitol Hill.
