So you want to launch an app? Great!

Before you get too ahead of yourself with dreams of being the next big Influencer, take a moment to consider the long hours and extra vitamins you are going to need.

Heidi Ireland launched YOGOJI, the coolest yoga app to hit the market this decade, AND kept a full time day job ticking over. So how does this one-woman micro business playing in a global space, keep it all together?

For the record, I don’t. My pants go on backwards most days of the week and I spend the rest of the week getting them back on the right way.

Marketing Manager come app creator Heidi runs us through her average day. Hold on to your hats, it’s not all zen and good chi!

4:30am – Wake up, stretch and head to the kitchen to take probiotics with a big glass of water – I’m mad for a supplement, lotion or potion. My social life is somewhat lacking and my tummy bacteria are my inspiration for #squadgoals these days.
I then set myself up in bed and begin my morning YOGOJI shift. I work through my emails and socials. They can cover anything from good vibes to technical queries, PR requests to developer follow ups.
6:15am – This time stamp is in memory of my once daily yoga practice. I do yoga in my mind at the moment. I’m hoping this keeps the muscle memory alive?
7:30am – Heat some bone broth or boil an egg. Whilst that is bubbling away I have the world’s fastest shower.
7:50am – My daily meditation is spending some quality time with my 17-year-old dog Dexter. I sip my broth whilst he attempts to mark every tree on our street. I say attempt as he has trouble holding three-legged dog these days. His down dog and hip openers are however still quite impressive. I pop another vitamin.
8:20am – I’m out the door for my day job as the Marketing Manager at nlc Pty Ltd. I work and live in the same street. So good, I know.
8:30am – Change gears and kick into day job mode. As Marketing Manager for one of Australia’s largest car buyers, I am responsible for the brand and digital strategy. It’s hectic, but I love it. I’m all om-shanti-om with my app, and I’m all go-team-go at work. I guess this is my kind of balance?
12:00pm – Lunch time usually consists of me praying for sunshine and a quick or long stroll (preferred) followed by some greens and a protein hit of some sort. Plus, you guessed it, more vitamins.
6:00pm - Head home, again praising the yoga Gods for my short commute from work! Take the dog for a “walk” and cook up some dinner and lunch for the next day.
7:00pm - Back to YOGOJI (generally with Netflix going in the background) to answer any urgent emails, check in with socials and check app sales for the day. I try to turn off my computer as soon as possible at night (I say that as I’m writing this at 11pm…) so I can commence my bedtime routine – shower, tea and a book.
9:00pm – Crawl into bed, exhausted, exhilarated, and promising myself that I will get back on the mat and downward dogging again soon!

YOGOJI is the easiest way to quickly notate your yoga sequences and massively ramp up the fun factor of text messages and emails with over 400 icons relating to yoga, fitness, health and wellbeing.

Heidi Ireland is based in Melbourne, Australia. YOGOJI was born out of her love for yoga and productivity tools, and a desire to inject some humour into the world of yoga.
