Two weeks ago, I blogged about the death of my son, Stephen. Since then, we have had an inspiring funeral and short graveside service. We buried Stephen in our small family cemetery at our summer house overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. This was Stephen's very favorite place. He grew up there and spent many happy days there with his family.
Since his passing, Donna and I have been greatly blessed by a rich outpouring of love and condolence for our son. We've heard from our hotel owner in Pakistan, from many trade association customers and from hundreds of Marriott associates and customers all across the world. We received condolences from many of those whom Stephen taught in sales school over 20 years ago.
We are touched by the positive impact that he had on so many of our associates. Many of you mentioned his great smile, his delightful sense of humor, and his determination to continue in spite of his 25-year debilitating disease. We are so proud of him and will miss him greatly.
Thank you for lightening our burden with your caring and concern. It has meant a great deal to both me and Donna.
