It's over for Heather Matarazzo and fiancee Caroline Murphy. Us Weekly reports that the "Welcome to the Dollhouse" star, 29, and her longtime girlfriend have split after leading separate lives for some time.
"In the end, they realized they were missing the spark. They had been best friends for so long, it turned out they loved each other, but were no longer in love," a source for the magazine said. The insider added that the pair had "been on the way to ending things for a while," and were living in separate states for "some time."
Matarazzo and Murphy had been engaged for four years. In July 2011, the actress said she was eager to marry Murphy in New York after same-sex marriage was made legal in the state -- and after Proposition 8 made marrying in California no longer a possibility. "My eyes and spirit have opened up since I found someone that I get to share my life with," Matarazzo told AP at the time. "I always wanted a wedding. Not a trip to City Hall."
