If you're the kind of person who likes to unwind with a drink at the end of the day, you've probably jumped at the research suggesting moderate drinking is beneficial to women's general health or that red wine is good for your heart.

But heavier alcohol use can lead to some serious health problems -- especially in women, who have a higher risk of developing breast cancer than those who don't drink, The Huffington Post reported in October. It may also result in neurological, cardiovascular or mental health problems, according to the CDC.
