Well, hello, friends. After a very long hiatus I'm back and a lot has changed. Scott and I transferred to Eastern Kentucky University; there was relocation for both of us, including my family, and the adaption to life in a bigger town.

I will admit that the move was not easy at first. In the process I left a town and a school I had developed a life in. In the theater department I was well accepted and at shows people were starting to know who I was. But this all changed when I transferred; I was starting from scratch again. I had to make new friends, gain a new following in the theater (still working on that), and learn my way around a new campus (yeah, still doing that too).

Changes were in store for Scott as well. For him, 2012 was a year of discovery or at the very least self-realization. After many years of hanging on marine biology, he decided to be true to himself, honest with his family and finally go for a degree in art and teaching. I must say, he seems much happier now.

But all of this was over a year ago. Now we are more familiar with things and life is going nicely. Summer has been great, even with taking classes and Scott working extra hours. We have still found time to relax and spend time with family.

I can't stress how important it is to find time to wind down and let yourself have some fun. With the daily grind that we all have, it is no wonder that many of us have poor health due to stress, lack of sleep and shear aggravation. I find that if I have focused for too long (such as during finals) that I find myself losing focus. While if I take a few short breaks, I am able to return to my work with more clarity.

For Scott and me, the summer has been a chance to detox from school, thus getting us ready for college to begin again in August, and also to do things we don't usually get time to do. This has led us to work on several video games that we had wanted to play.

Lately we have been working on collecting and playing The Legend of Zelda game series. We recently came across the Hyrule Historia by by Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, Akira Himekawa and Patrick Thorpe. This book which is gold to any Zelda lover gives fans an in-depth look at the series and even includes an official timeline that we have all been clamoring for. And since I am a girl who loves doing things in order, this thrills me. So far we have already beaten Skyward Sword, and finally after hunting through many game stores and failing to find it, I ordered The Minish Cap from Amazon and it was delivered today.

While I know gaming is not everyone's cup of tea, there are several other things you can do to unwind and to enjoy for entertainment this summer. The big thing is that whether it is games, books, movies, tasting wine or tea, crafting, spending time with your family, or simply sleeping; make time for yourself. You have to be healthy and happy to reach your goals. So enjoy yourself, unwind, and then tackle those dreams head on.

See you next time.
