The NSA warrantless spying story has spawned its first big name--maybe. Rocketing around the blogosphere is the story of Andrea Mitchell's interview with the NYT's James Risen, he of the NSA scoop, now plugging his book (which may have prompted the Times to get off the pot in the first place). Apparently, according to the liberal blog AmericaBlog's quoting of the NBC transcript, Mitchell asked Risen if he knew of the NSA wiretapping CNN's Christiane Amanpour. He had no such knowledge. End of story? Not quite. Both AmericaBlog and TVNewser now report that that question has been excised from the transcript of the interview.
