'Help Feed LA' Makes Donating Food Easy

L.A. businesses can donate their surplus food more easily to those who need it, thanks to the Help Feed L.A. campaign, reports KPCC, NPR's affiliate in Southern California.

The L.A. Regional Food Bank, Albertsons, Hunger Action L.A. and L.A. Shares have teamed up with Councilman Jose Huizar to make donating simpler.

Huizar said,

"What we're doing today is making it easier for the private sector, saying, 'Hey, look up on our website, call 3-1-1, you will find places that pick up your food, that all you have to do is put it aside and people will go out there, pick it up, and your business will not be hassled.' "

To learn more, visit HelpFeedLA.org or call 3-1-1 to find a charity that accepts donation.
