Here's A 'Secret' Behind April 25, AKA The 'Perfect Date'

Don't forget your light jacket today.

For the past 17 years, we’ve known April 25 as the “perfect date.”

In the film “Miss Congeniality,” Cheryl Frasier (played by Heather Burns), better known as Miss Rhode Island, says the iconic line as an answer to a question posed by William Shatner’s Stan Fields during a beauty pageant.

Fields asks Frasier to “describe her perfect date,” to which she responds, “That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.”

The scene is adorable in its absurdity. And on Tuesday, April 25, William Shatner tweeted a fun fact about this very special day:

Apparently, April 25 is the birthday of director Donald Petrie’s wife. Awww.

Well, we hope she’s got a light jacket on and is enjoying this “perfect date.”
