Neil Patrick Harris Goes Full Olaf For Latest 'Unfortunate Events' Teaser

The Netflix series drops in January.

If you grew up reading Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events series, then you’re probably just as excited as we are for the upcoming Netflix show based on the books.

The streaming service just released a new teaser for the series, entitled “Meet Count Olaf,” and it is a treat.

If you’re new to the Unfortunate Events world, it’s a 13-book series that follows the tragic events that befall the Baudelaire orphans ― Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. Awful Count Olaf is the children’s guardian, and his goal in life is to get his hands on their inheritance, at any cost. The series involves the siblings battling Olaf in crazy situations while also trying to figure out the story behind their parent’s mysterious deaths.

Playing the evil Count Olaf in the new series is none other than actor and singer Neil Patrick Harris ― who seems to really enjoy playing villainous roles (”Gone Girl,” anyone?).

Judging by this small snippet, Harris’ Olaf already seems more sinister than Jim Carrey’s Olaf from the 2004 movie of the same name, but it’s probably too soon to tell.

We can’t wait for the Baudelaires to get back in our lives.

“Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” series will drop on Netflix worldwide Jan. 13, 2017.
