By now you've probably heard of the "100 Layer Challenge". If you haven't, you're likely better off. YouTubers are trying to out-do each other by applying a hundred layers of... something to their faces, hands, hair, and other body parts (no, nobody has done that yet).
The trend started with Simply Nailogical, when she attempted to use every polish colour she owns on her nails. After 116 coats, Cristine had created what she called '#polishmountain' and the trend caught fire with almost 16 millions views on the video. Suddenly YouTubers everywhere were applying a hundred layers of concealer, mascara, eyeliner, dry shampoo, liquid lipstick, and anything else you could think of.
The absurd challenge that has no reason being a thing has hit a fever pitch of insanity. Take Stephanie Lange for example, who applied 100 layers of fake tan to her body.
Chris Oflyng took it a step further. Not only did he apply 100 layers of latex to his face and body, but he challenged his subscribers, saying that if the video got 30,000 thousand likes he would apply a hundred coats of melted wax to his face. Of course he got those likes:
