This May Make You Re-Think Wearing Black Clothing

I don't wear black clothing. I choose not to wear black because I want to appear as vibrant as possible every day.

In the video below, I answer a common question I receive about wearing your best colors head to toe.

I have seen over and over the negative impacts of wearing black clothing if black does not give off your best. If you wear black when your coloring is not in harmony with the undertone, value and intensity of black, you could make yourself appear washed out, dull, older, magnify skin imperfections and even create shadowing that visually expands your jawline. When I say magnify skin imperfections, I am talking about things like highlighting circles around the eyes and visually increasing the intensity of wrinkles, acne and rosacea.

A color analysis consultation is the most optimal way to find out whether black clothing gives off your best. A color analysis helps to guide you on your best colors for your hair, makeup, clothing and accessories. Not all of the palettes in color analysis have black in them, mine included. I am a True Summer and my best colors include those that have a cool undertone with low intensity. I choose to wear charcoal gray and navy blue for my neutrals instead of black.

Oops... I lied in the first sentence of this blog. I did wear black in the video above :-)

I hope this blog post inspires you to wear your authenticity!
