Hero Cop Rescues Kid Riding His Toy Car Through Real Traffic

The little boy was heading the wrong way up a busy street.

A little boy took his toy car out for a spin through traffic in eastern China, with almost disastrous results.

Cars and motorbikes swerved around the youngster as he pushed himself the wrong way up a busy street in Lishui, Zhejiang province, last week.

Incredibly, none of the motorists stopped to help the boy. Surveillance footage shows a bus coming within inches of running him over.

Luckily, a traffic police officer spotted the child and ran out to rescue him.

The officer scooped up the unidentified youngster and returned him to his mother, China’s state-run CCTV News reports.

At least 200,000 people die in traffic-related accidents in China each year, according to the World Health Organization. About 10,000 of them are children.

Earlier this month, after a car rear-ended a truck in China’s southwestern Guizhou province, the truck driver unwittingly dragged the car for 16 miles before noticing.
