What do you do in a city that gets up to 22 hours of daylight in summer? Play ball, of course!

The locals of Anchorage, Alaska, love to take advantage of the midnight sun, and one of their favorite pastimes is baseball. The Glacier Pilots is a college summer baseball team that has played for over 40 years. They've launched the careers of pro players like Mark McGwire, and the team has helped over 160 other players to go on to the Major Leagues as well.

Part of the Glacier Pilots' success comes from the unlimited amount of sunlight that lets them train at just about any time of day or night, and you can join them well into the wee hours. Even games stretch until 1 am. It's easy to get tickets and if you're lucky, you just might be able to get on the field.

Watch as I meet the team and find out if I have the skills to hit one out of the park in a game of midnight baseball.

And don't miss my other Hidden Gems of Anchorage, Alaska, from adventures on the water to unbelievable views from a seaplane.
