Hide Dark Roots And Grey Hair With These 3 Quick Fixes (VIDEO)

Seriously, these are like magic.

We've all (or at least know someone who has) rushed to the hairstylist's chair with magazine clippings and pictures saved on our cellphones of a celebrity's hair color or highlights in hopes that they can make us look just like that. But what do you do when that fresh-out-of-the-salon look fades, you're strapped for cash (dye jobs ain't cheap!) and unable to book an appointment with your colorist ASAP?

In the video above, BellaSugar reporter Kirbie Johnson bravely reveals her dark roots and shows us three tricks to hide regrowth. Her first suggestion is pretty simple: switch your hair part. Because hair color typically starts to fade here, a messy middle part will help to create an ombre illusion. Blondes can also fake a trip to the salon by sprinkling roots with baby powder (but don't go overboard, or you'll look like you're going grey or have crazy dandruff). Highlighter touch-up pens are another great thing to keep handy when adding oomph back to your weeks-old dye job. And if all else fails, you can never go wrong with a topknot. Gathering strands into a sleek ballerina-style bun disguises roots and draws eyes up higher.

What do you think about these tricks to conceal dark roots and grey hair? How do you handle regrowth in between visits to the salon? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.

Meanwhile, find out the truth behind that plucking grey hairs beauty myth.
