Diver High-Fives 'Biggest' Great White Shark, But Doesn't Use Secret Handshake

High-Fiving A Massive Great White Is As Wild As It Looks

A great white shark isn't your softball buddy who is happy to see your outstretched palm after a big play.

But this diver doesn't seem to care. Our underwater adventurer successfully completed a hand-to-fin high-five with a humongous great white off Guadalupe Island, off the west coast of Mexico. And that was even after the beast snapped its jaws, chomping nothing but water.

The video was posted on Facebook June 9 by Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, who wrote, "I give you the biggest white shark ever seen in front of the cages in Guadalupe Island...DEEP BLUE!!

Deep Blue, as Hoyos Padilla noted in another post, was the 20-foot-plus female caught on video for a Discovery Channel Shark Week episode in 2014. Hoyos Padilla was part of the tagging expedition.

As for the high-five, if the diver wants to impress further, next time try a chest bump.
