High School Basketball Player Boldly Bounces Inbound Pass Off Defender's Back, Dunks

And, yes, his team won.

Here’s another contender for the title of the best dunk of the year, this time from the skilled hands of Ohio high schooler Devon Andrews.

Andrews, a 6-foot-5 senior at Lorain High School, had been playing Tuesday in a game against North Ridgeville High School when he scored the jaw-dropping dunk. As this video shows, Andrews threw an inbound pass off a defender’s back before catching the ball and dunking it.

According to The Chronicle-Telegram, Andrews, who will play for Kent State next year, scored a career-high 39 points on Tuesday. Lorain, which is undefeated this season with a 20-0 record, beat North Ridgeville 95-55.

Lorain basketball coach John Rositano told The Morning Journal this week that Andrews, who has been averaging 21.2 points per game, is a “well-grounded” and “unselfish” player. “He cares a whole lot about the team,” the coach said of the young man.
