Hillary Clinton Gives A Few Reasons Why She May Not Run

A Hillary Clinton presidential bid in 2016 seems all but assured at this point, but the former secretary of state says she can think of a few reasons why she may decide against it.

In an interview with NBC News that aired Tuesday evening, Clinton explained why she may forgo a 2016 run.

"I am about to become a grandmother in the fall, which I know is gonna change my life," she said. "I don't know how I'm gonna feel about that. I wanna feel the feelings around becoming a grandmother. I don't wanna be focused on something two years away. I wanna be focused on this baby right in front of me."

Clinton also cited concerns with how a campaign would impact her personal life, which she says has vastly improved since leaving the State Department, as well as the toxic nature of American politics.

"I love my life right now, I love setting my own schedule, seeing my friends. I mean, there were so many friends I had to put on hold, and now I get to have dinner with them and go for walks with them," she said. "I love hanging out, just you know, doing fun stuff."

The former U.S. senator and first lady is currently on a whirlwind media tour promoting her new memoir, Hard Choices. During a Sunday appearance on ABC's "This Week," Clinton said she expects to be "on the way to making a decision" on whether or not to run by the end of this year.

"I'm going to decide when it feels right for me to decide," she said.
