Donald Trump Says Hillary Clinton Has Been Fighting ISIS Since 1965

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. ― Donald Trump brushed aside criticisms that he hasn’t been specific on his plan to fight the so-called Islamic State, saying Monday that Hillary Clinton has had her chance to go after the terrorist group and has failed.

“Go to her website. She tells you how to fight ISIS on her website,” Trump said during the first presidential debate, justifying his reason for offering zero specifics on his plans. “I don’t think Gen. Douglas MacArthur would like that too much. ... See, you’re telling the enemy everything you want to do. No wonder you’ve been fighting ― no wonder you’ve been fighting ISIS your entire adult life.”

Clinton was born in 1947. If Trump is correct, she has been fighting ISIS since 1965, when she turned 18. At the time, Clinton was running for president of the student government at Park Ridge East High School.

ISIS also did not exist.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
