Apparent 'HIMYM' Alternate Ending Is Better Than The Original One

It's been six months since the finale of "How I Met Your Mother" and no, we're still not over it.

We've moaned and debated about it, fans made a petition to change it, Twitter exploded in outrage and one fan even decided to fix the ending. But now apparently the real alternate ending to the series has leaked online.

According to TV Line, the video uploaded to YouTube on Sept. 5 reveals a much happier ending than the original one. The video, which has since been removed from YouTube by Fox, apparently features Ted recapping his nine years of relationship fails leading up to the moment he met Tracy. The best part though? The alternate ending cuts out the Ted and Robin french horn reunion, instead closing on that romantic moment at the train station.

The video may have been removed by YouTube, but it looks like it still exists on Vimeo. We're not certain that either of the videos are the official alternate ending that co-creator Carter Bays announced would be on the "HIMYM" DVD set back in April. HuffPost TV has reached out to CBS for comment and will update this post if and when one is received. Till then, just enjoy the fact that this wonderful alternate ending exists, real or not.
