Brigitte Bardot-Inspired Hair Is Hot for the Holidays

One holiday party look that I really love is the classic Brigitte Bardot. Almost every woman can wear this look, or a version of it. It is sexy, soft and fun to wear, but at the same time it is classic and timeless.

As you know, the holidays are here and everyone loves to have fun and go out and celebrate at many holiday parties. Everyone loves to get dressed up and do fun things with their hair. My philosophy as a stylist has always been to make women look absolutely beautiful by keeping the hair looking very healthy and sexy. Sometimes, women tend to try to hard to look good, and sometimes it is more about simplifying things that makes you stand out from the rest of the crowd -- not overdoing it. As I always say, less is more -- especially when it comes to the hair. One holiday party look that I really love is the classic Brigitte Bardot. Almost every woman can wear this look, or a version of it. It is sexy, soft and fun to wear, but at the same time it is classic and timeless. It will most definitely get the attention of the opposite sex in the room.

Here's how to achieve the look: after cleansing with volumizing shampoo and conditioner, towel dry the hair and apply a volumizing spray to the roots. Apply a lightweight styling glaze and comb through to distribute product evenly throughout the hair. Take a Mason Pearson brush and blow-dry hair in one-inch sections. Blow-drying with a Mason Pearson will help you achieve beautiful, shiny, healthy-looking hair. After the blow-dry is finished, take a 1 ¼ inch curling iron and wrap hair from root to hand in a spiral motion to create some texture. It does not have to be perfectly curled.

When finished with the curling iron, flip hair upside down and mist dry shampoo at the roots -- just to create more texture. Section hair off from the front of your forehead and tease gently at the roots throughout the head. Grab some bobby pins or straight pins, and break up teasing with fingers to create a disheveled look. Grab hair from both sides of the head -- just above your ear -- and pull back to the crown and secure it with pins. This should give you a little lift on top. With your fingers, break up the hair on top and pull out some pieces around your face to soften. This is a very sexy look, and is very classy at the same time.
