A homeless man wielding a stick was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies over the weekend.
According to a sheriff's department statement, the man "suddenly armed himself with a wooden stick" and "advanced toward the deputies with the wooden stick overhead."
This prompted deputies to open fire, which killed the man.
No deputies were hit by gunfire, and the weapon was recovered at the scene, CBS reports.
Sheriff's deputies did not release the man's name.
