Homosexuality Is 'Unique From Any Other Sin' And An 'Attack On God,' Mat Staver Claims

Homosexuality Is 'A Direct Attack On Who God Is,' According To This Pundit

The Liberty Counsel 's Mat Staver fired off at the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in an impassioned speech at a "Celebrate America" event in Washington D.C. this month.

Staver, whose opposition to LGBT rights is well-established, argued that homosexuality is "unique from any other sin" because, like consuming pornography, it is a "sin against your own body," Right Wing Watch originally reported.

"We're moving into a direct attack on who God is," he said. "Because when you destroy human sexuality ... and when you destroy God's creation of marriage as man and woman, husband and wife, male and female ... you destroy your understanding of who God is."

Pointing to greater acceptance of same-sex marriage rights nationwide, he concluded, "That's where we are moving right now in America."

In 2013, Staver argued that the U.S. Supreme Court's rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Prop 8 were not reflective of "natural law, biblical law or common sense; it is contrary to the natural created order of God almighty."

Earlier this year, Staver praised Russia, Uganda and Nigeria for their anti-LGBT laws, respectively, in a "Faith and Freedom" radio broadcast.
