A Last Haunting Look Inside The Hotel Chelsea, Where Dylan, Kerouac And Warhol Once Slept (PHOTOS)

The iconic Hotel Chelsea in New York City once hosted celebs like Bob Dylan, Jack Kerouac and Andy Warhol. But the glory days of the historic landmark are over. In newly released photos by photographer Victoria Cohen, we get a rare (and a bit sad) look inside the place that once made dreams come true.

Before the space went under major renovations in 2011, Cohen was given access to tour the grounds. What we see are images of the original interiors filled with old furniture, stale walls and emptiness, which you can almost feel by just looking at the photos. “It became a responsibility, not just an artistic endeavor to capture the essence,” Cohen told the New York Times. “I was not photographing empty rooms, I was taking portraits.”
