Woman Gets Two DUIs On The Same Night, In The Same Car

"She said, 'I can't get another DUI.' I said, 'What do you mean?' She said, 'I already have one today.'"

One driver, one car, one night. Double DUI's.

Troopers from Somerset say 43-year-old Michele Leonard, of Somerset, was intoxicated when she crashed her car about 5 p.m.on Saturday, the Associated Press reports.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested her and charged her with drunken driving before releasing her.

That's when Leonard offered a stranger $3 for a ride back to her crashed vehicle, police said. She entered and began driving again.

She then allegedly again lost control of the car, sideswiping a parked car in Somerset Township about 6 p.m. before crashing into a shed.

"I looked out my window and saw a car fly down my driveway, past my truck, heard a big crash and looked out -- she slammed into my shed," Stanley Fisher, who approached her after the incident, told WTAE News.

"She tried to back up. I stopped her, took her keys from her. She said, 'I can't get another DUI.' I said, 'What do you mean?' She said, 'I already have one today,'" he said.

Fisher told WTAE News his shed was destroyed, as were most of the expensive tools in it.

Officers reported no injuries, according to The Tribune-Review.

Leonard had no comment for WTAE News.

This isn't the first time a person has been arrested twice for DUI on the same day.

Last year, a woman named Catherine Butler was arrested for DUI twice within three hours, once while wearing zombie makeup after leaving a Halloween party.
