WASHINGTON -- D.C. played the role of Hollywood Tuesday night at the Newseum. The cast, creator and well-wishers of "House of Cards" walked the red carpet at the Newseum.

"House of Cards" will debut on Netflix on February 1. Along with new episodes of "Arrested Development," the movie and television streaming service is now commissioning original content for their 27 million users.
The Huffington Post interviewed series creator, writer and executive producer Beau Willimon and actress Kate Mara at the premier. We spoke with Willimon in November about the series creation, working with Netflix and series lead Kevin Spacey.
