House Republicans Commemorate 9/12 March With House Resolution

Have you forgotten, America, about that time Fox News brought 70,000 people to Washington, DC on September 12, 2009, to "bury Obamacare with Kennedy", and make other vague rants, about politics? Such an exciting time, in our lives. And yet, you'll notice that the entire Obama administration did not resign that day. By Jove, they may even be poised to pass some health care reform bill that contains vaguely public-option-like substance! It makes you wonder if maybe, future generations will forget this media-sponsored day of protest, even though it spawned a popular blog commemorating the event.

Not to worry though, because 75 House Republicans have introduced H.R. 870, a resolution that will forever commemorate the 9/12 march on Washington. Sponsored by Representative Tom Price (R-Ga.), it's the Congressional resolution version of those "I Participated" trophies that all the bad Little League teams get. The resolution celebrates the "hundreds of thousands of American patriots" who "came to Washington, DC, to show their disapproval." But it doesn't stop there. It also literally celebrates the buses that transported them, as well as the "many individually chartered flights" that brought exceedingly wealthy people to Washington to yell about the raw deal they were getting in America.

"Estimates of the number of people who peacefully marched," according to the resolution, "range as high as 1,700,000 marchers," so, this resolution will also permanently enshrine the misty memories of all sorts of people's inability to count, as well. NEVER FORGET.
