Sophia Amoruso is one of the most inspiring entrepreneurs in America. Initially known for her retail company Nasty Gal, Amoruso quickly made a name for herself as an independent businesswoman. In 2014 she penned an empowering memoir called #Girlboss, documenting her journey from dumpster diving to badass CEO. Although Amoruso never intended to be anyone else's idol with the motto, "Just be your own idol," her book has since become a bible of female empowerment.

Julia Llanos of Hello Dudettes made a slick video proving that Sophia Amoruso is the ultimate role model. The video breaks down how the high school dropout that was diagnosed with depression went on to found her own business that now serves more than 550,000 customers in over 60 countries.

Just this week Amoruso channeled her empowering brand into a new book, Nasty Galaxy, an illustrated guide to life for girlbosses everywhere.

Amoruso and Nasty Gal provide an empowering platform for women that encourages drive, independence, and commitment to yourself. Through her journey Amoruso promised to build her own brand around herself. This is an important message for creative women everywhere: be your own hero, build your own dreams, and love who you are.

Like Sophia Amoruso said, "Be confident in yourself and other people will believe in you."
