How Do Moms Stay Positive?

So, how do moms stay positive in a world that's moving at a hundred miles an hour? There's that old saying, "If Momma's not happy, nobody's happy." As the matriarch of the family, everyone takes their cues from you.

Being a mom, just like any coach of a team, sets the tone for establishing a positive family environment. Being positive is the key ingredient in leading any team to victory and with a family, moving everyone in a forward motion to achieve success.

You're the one who gets the family going in the morning, feeds them the most important meal of the day, breakfast; packs lunches; gives kisses good bye and bids everyone a wonderful day. The kids head off to school as your husband heads out to make the big bucks. At least that's how it was in Happy Days.

In today's world a mom's morning is more like this: "C'mon kids, please get in the car, I'm going to be late for work. And here's your lunch money, eat something else besides french fries today, please." And as the kids run out of the car, she yells, "I love you guys." Most often there's no response back. And her husband? Many times he's already gone to work, is out of work, or alas, they're divorced.

So, how do moms stay positive in a world that's moving at a hundred miles an hour?
There's that old saying, "If Momma's not happy, nobody's happy." As the matriarch of the family, everyone takes their cues from you. If you're happy, it sets the tone for the family that everything is okay. If you're unhappy, everybody will be on edge, always looking for the proverbial shoe to drop, and believe me, it will. You need to believe that you are the most important person in your life. Not your children, nor your spouse. The truth of the matter is that if you're not happy you won't be healthy, and if you're not healthy you can't do anything for anyone else.

So, how do we stay happy? We stay positive, by knowing:

1. You're doing the best you can with the resources you have, so cut yourself a break. If you don't, no one else will.

2. Everyone in your house needs to be responsible for a chore, it eases your burden and teaches responsibility.

3. You're not perfect, don't try to be.

4. Be grateful for where you are in life knowing that you are exactly where you need to be and so is everyone else in your house.

5. Focus on what you want out of life, not what you don't want.

6. Know that everything will work out in the end and if it hasn't worked out yet it's because it's not the end.

Changing your thoughts will change your life!
