Finally, there were a few more clips of that wedding set some time later in the continuity on the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother" (Mon., 8 p.m. ET on CBS). Enough to reveal who the bride was, but that would be a late-episode shocker.
Those scenes were few and far between, as the bulk of the action chronicled Barney's wild ride to a proposal as well as the birth of Marshall and Lily's baby. Barney gave their baby its middle name, making him officially Marvin Waitforit Eriksen.
He apparently had an elaborate magic trick staged for his proposal to Quinn, but wound up having to go through with it while being interrogated by airport security. Nevertheless, it was a pretty neat trick and she said yes.
But somewhere between that moment and "the wedding day that went terribly wrong" Quinn stepped out of the picture and Robin stepped in. That's right. It was Robin at the end as that future bride. How did this happen?
As for Ted, after getting some hard truths about his own quest for love from Robin, he reconnected with ex-flame Victoria. Only they met up on her wedding day, which she was running away from. So Ted helped her do just that.
Thank goodness "How I Met Your Mother" has been renewed and will definitely be a part of the CBS Fall 2012 schedule.
