The increasingly popular practice of meditation has a number of important physical and mental health benefits. For Andy Puddicombe, the ancient mindfulness practice helped him battle testicular cancer.
Puddicombe, founder of the Headspace meditation app, joined HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani to discuss what he learned by incorporating mindfulness and meditation into his life while battling cancer.
“We tend to jump ahead and anticipate what might happen and the implications of that,” says Puddicombe. “So my advice would be, by learning to be more present, we cut through all of that stuff, and instead, we are living life.”
Although meditation, of course, can’t change the uncertainty of situations, Puddicombe explains that it helps provide valuable perspective.
