When you Google yourself, what comes up? That's your personal brand. If nothing comes up then the below tips will help you get started. Whether you’re climbing the corporate ladder, looking for a new job or running a business - taking the time to manage how you show up in the world is crucial.

Think of it this way: If you’re not actively branding yourself - someone else is.

Five Simple Ways to Build Your Personal Brand

Five Simple Ways to Build Your Personal Brand

Here are five simple ways to build your personal brand:

1. Produce Content

Content remains king! As great as it is to share other people’s content across social media, the real winners are those creating their own content. What unique view point of view can you share with the world?

2. Create a Visual Identity

Get clear on what you want to be known for. A consistent online and offline identity is crucial. What are your brand colors? Does your website look professional? With so much noise in the online world; take time to think about what you can do to stand out.

3. Build Your Tribe

Community is currency. The quicker you can build a network of like-minded people the faster you’ll progress. My Publicity for Entrepreneurs Facebook community frequently share resources and opportunities with each other. Who is in your tribe? Review and assess your network regularly. Don’t be afraid to cut ties with anyone hindering your growth.

4. Partner with Others

Collaborating with other people in your niche is a strategic way to take your brand to the next level. Not only will partnerships give you access to a bigger audience; you’ll also build a support network.

5. Get Press Coverage

Newspapers, magazines, TV, podcasts - any kind of media coverage for yourself or your business is a great way to build credibility. Use Twitter or Google to identify journalists or influencers who you want to build a relationship with. {I share a ton of content about this in the Publicity for Entrepreneurs community, if you’d like to learn more}.
