How To Disinfect Your Television Remote Control

Why You Should Pay Attention To Your T.V's Best Friend

We recently revealed how to properly clean your television screens, but your television's better half needs attention too. The television remote control is constantly being exposed to germs from your hands, which means you'll probably want to disinfect it often. In a few simple steps you can have a remote that's clean and ready to be turned to HGTV (or whatever your favorite channel may be).

First, remove the batteries from the back of the remote. Then, dip a cotton cloth into rubbing alcohol and wipe down the entire surface of the controller. Next, use a alcohol soaked Q-Tip to carefully clean around the buttons. If there is grime inside the buttons, use a toothpick to remove it. Then, dry the remote with a lint-free cloth. Finally, reinstall the batteries and store the remote in a box to avoid excess exposure to germs.
