Imagine each day you wake up saying this to yourself:
I am focused on what I desire, not distracted by everything else.
I am stepping in strength through uncertainty toward my life's purpose.
I am relentlessly determined to be my best, most authentic self.
I am training my body to be stronger and healthier each day so it can carry me through life.

Is that a pipe dream or a reality for you right now? Take a moment, and look at yourself in the proverbial mirror. Is that your morning conversation as you emerge from sleep? If it is Congratulations and keep on going, one foot in front of the other. And, if not, I know beyond doubt you have what it takes to get there and I will share some strategies to make it so. No one else can do the hard work it takes to go after your wildest dreams and set yourself up for miracles, but YOU!

OK, let's take the focus off of you and put it elsewhere for a moment.

A look into my own challenges: I can get scared and 'need' to check Facebook. I get distracted by my daughters' needs and forget my own. I focus on work and miss a meal, setting me up to feel deprived later. I can get sucked into someone else's problems and the rescuer in me can lose track of my own priorities.

Do you see yourself in any of that? As much as we can feel alone in our ways, we all do some version of distraction. We all have fears, insecurities and underlying beliefs that have kept or are still keeping our best life at arms reach.

There is no judgment allowed. You cannot afford to beat yourself up for your past; judgment expired the moment the mistakes happened. And, there's no free pass to keep living that way. If it's not working, it's your choice to change. Get focused on what is important and get more efficient and effective in your entire life. You will go rocketing forward physically, in your business, in your financial life, in your partnerships, in your parenting with funneled focus. It's all one big package, and the way you do one area translates into the way you do all areas.
But it doesn't come on a silver platter; it takes training, so try this:

Practice Point: Focus
Record How You Spend Your Day.
Place a piece of paper on your desk. Break it into categories: work, self-care, family, fitness, parenthood, distraction on the computer, busyness to avoid, gossip. Create the categories that fit your life and spend one-day recording time spent from when you wake to when you go to bed. At the end of the day, look back over your work and get a sense of how focused you were. Congratulate yourself for taking the time to become aware of how you are spending your life.

Now let's focus on strength. Do you have the physical capacity you desire? Do you have the mental strength to get it done, whatever IT is in your life? Do you have the emotional strength to feel your feelings and stand up taller each day?

Often we hold a picture of perfect and we downplay anything on the path. Feeling strong and capable that you can figure out whatever is on your plate for today is a first step. Some people want to climb big mountains, for some just being able to walk to the grocery store without falling, whatever it is you need to have the confidence in your physical body that you are strong enough to live and do the life you want to be living.

Practice Point: Strength
Put your arms straight in the air right this moment. From your feet, breathe and relax your feet into the ground, soften your knees, suck your belly in and make certain your arms are straight up over your head like railroad tracks. Stay here for 30 seconds. Do this 3 more times today and if 30 seconds is too short, challenge your physical body and mental focus by adding another 30, 60 or 90.

And now we'll bring it all together with intuition, that inner guidance system that is always available and always trustworthy, IF we can stop long enough to listen. Have you ever had a gut feeling that answered a question? Can you feel your way to a location even when you do not know the street names? This is intuition. This is your inner guidance system and when you listen to that, it guides you to health, joy and your best life. That quiet voice inside is often much softer than all of the outside influences and contradictions in our head AND intuition leads us down a straighter path to what we really want.

Practice Point: Intuition
Set a 10-minute timer. Sit still. Breathe. Relax into your chair. Repeat this 7 days in a row, track your progress on paper and notice what comes up in your mind and if you are willing to stay to train this deep well of brilliance inside of you.

Consistent practice makes consistent progress. If you train old habits, you will get more of that. Learn to train focus, strength and intuition and notice how your life gets better each day!
