Love it or hate it, candy corn is here to stay--literally. It's non-biodegradable.
The sticky legacy of this polarizing Halloween treat can be traced back to the 1880s. Some haters say we're still eating the original batch today. Since then, candy corn has become a familiar trick-or-treat bag filler, even if not everyone actually enjoys it.
Today, 35 million pounds of the tri-color kernels are produced annually. That means you'll likely have a stockpile of the waxy spikes sitting around during the month of October. To rid yourself of this surplus sucrose, turn your candy corn into a frightfully easy infused vodka.
- 1 (750 mL) bottle inexpensive vodka
- 1 cup candy corn
- 2 oz Candy corn-infused vodka
- .75 oz Orange liqueur
- .5 oz Lime juice
PREPARATION:
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into a martini glass rimmed with crushed candy corn.
