Have you ever gotten excited about a really cheap airfare or vacation package, only to not book because you couldn't find anyone to go with you?

Does the thought of globetrotting without a companion elicit anxiety and cause you to break out in hives?

Maybe traveling alone doesn't scare you as much as it bores you. With whom will you share those special moments of discovery on foreign territory? And with whom will you share your observations as you navigate your new locale?

Alas, under these conditions, traveling solo is an epic no-no for many.

For every traveller out there exploring the open road on their own, there are dozens missing out on travel experiences because the thought of going by themselves, without the social safety net of friends and family, is too nerve-wracking or mind-numbing boring.
