How To Remove Gum From A Carpet

You’ll be surprised at what you can do.

Gum can cause a pretty sticky situation in your house -- especially if you have little ones running around. Typically this gooey substance ends up getting stuck on soft fabrics, which are difficult to clean. Luckily, Real Simple found an easy way to remove gum from a carpet.

All you have to do is fill a storage bag with ice cubes and run it along the gum until it hardens. Then, using a dull object, break the gum apart. Finally, either vacuum or sweep up the residue. This trick will also work with candle wax.

This is a great idea to try if you ever find yourself or your children stuck to your flooring. And because the process can be done using things you probably have in your home, it can be done in a jiffy and practically for free.
