Ladies, take note. The men of Reddit would like to "train" you.
I've seen some people refer to training a woman you're dating or perhaps have entered into a [long-term relationship] with. I am curious to hear some techniques or peruse some resources that focus on this topic. Got any?
Here are seven of the most absurd comments and responses this apparently serious post received:
- "Reward behavior you approve of with eye contact, smiles, and other positive reinforcement. Punish behavior you disapprove of with physical, social, or emotional withdrawal. It doesn't take many instances to establish a pattern."
To recap: women can (and should) be "trained" like dogs to act the way men would like them to, emotional responses are "weapons" and there's apparently no need to have a real, human conversation when your partner's behavior upsets you.
We're fully on board with Erin Gloria Ryan's response to this nonsense over at Jezebel: "Here's some cool advice on how to change the behavior of a person you're going out with: if they're doing something you don't like, tell them."
