Isn't synchronicity a fascinating phenomenon?

I'm referring to the experience of having a highly meaningful coincidence. You know, like when a friend or relative calls you up while you are thinking about them.

I believe this is part of the mindset effect: when you put certain intentions out into the world, the universe will answer. It follows the philosophy of the law of attraction: what you feel now is what you are going to attract. This is why it's so helpful to understand how to program our subconscious minds to attract the results we are looking for.

You know the feeling when you learn a new word, or come across some obscure piece of information, and suddenly you start hearing or seeing it everywhere you look? This is called the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon, and it is very similar to the synchronicity effect.

We live in a complex world, with thousands of languages. We're surrounded by people of extremely diverse backgrounds. We're exposed to so many words, ideas and names in a day, and yet we often encounter the same information again within a short time period.

It may feel like a coincidence at the time, but it's actually the way our brain filters information. In part, this is due to selective attention; we block out the uninteresting data and listen to what is important and meaningful to us.

Make Your Brand Meaningful to You

These experiences help to demonstrate why mindset is so important. When you have that Ah-Ha Moment in your business or in life, you're able to learn from that experience and apply the answers in a way that resonates with you.

This is why the Ah-ha is such a crucial part of my new branding. It's so important for your brand to be genuine to who you are as a person.

I believe our lives are full of Ah-Ha Moments, we just have to know where to look to find them. And when you do discover them, they make you a better entrepreneur. You walk away from the experience feeling more heart-centered and more passionate about what you do. From there, the business strategy will follow. But if you can't find the Ah-ha - if you don't have the passion - the business strategy won't mean anything to you (or your target audience).

Do you have an Ah-ha Moment to share? I'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment below or reach out on Facebook or Twitter. And take this as your reminder to think carefully about your intentions this week.

To Your Success and Happiness, and ah-ha Moments,
Anita Heidema
