Howard Schultz, the former Starbucks CEO who is considering an independent bid for the presidency in 2020, made a bold claim in a new ad.
“The majority of Americans aren’t Democrats or Republicans,” the ad, which is circulating on Facebook and cited by NBC News, said. “The majority of Americans are Americans.”
That had Schultz’s critics wondering: Who were the Americans who weren’t Americans?
I've crunched the numbers and can confirm that the majority of Americans are Americans

Hi @HowardSchultz I know I’ve said some mean things about you in the past but I feel like I have to tell you for your own good that “the majority of Americans are Americans” is the kind of slogan you end up with when your own consultants are mocking you behind your back.

Howard Schultz recalls the soaring prose of Obama in 2004 when he memorably thundered, “We have never been a collection of red states or blue states, but American states, with Americans inside them.” pic.twitter.com/bS3uWD52pd
