Hugh Grant On 'Two And A Half Men'?: Star Replacing Charlie Sheen

Hugh Grant THIS CLOSE To Replacing Charlie Sheen On 'Two And A Half Men'

Hugh Grant is just a fraction shy of joining "Two and a Half Men."

Deadline reports that the British star was "deep into negotiations" to replace the fired Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS sitcom, with an offer of over $1 million an episode on the table. Grant pulled out at the last minute due to "creative differences," though at that money, he could reconsider.

Sheen, of course, was fired after launching a wild tirade against the show's creator, Chuck Lorre. His insane radio rants led to the cancellation of the rest of the show's most recent season; Sheen's reaction following the cancellation included perceived anti-semitic attacks that helped seal his permanent exit.

The show has been working to retool without Sheen, though, obviously, no solution has been found.

Grant hasn't appeared on the big screen since the panned 2009 comedy "Did You Hear About The Morgans?"
