Human Events Ending Print Edition

Human Events will end its print edition, The Washington Examiner reported on Wednesday.

"This was a difficult decision, and one we did not make lightly," publisher Joe Guerriero said. "As everyone knows, the newspaper business is a very tough business. Contrast that with the explosive growth of digital media, which we've seen with our own websites, HumanEvents.com and RedState.com."

Last week, Politico reported that the weekly publication — a major conservative media outlet founded in 1944 — was up for sale and might close down entirely if a buyer was not found. Instead, the February 18th issue now on newsstands will be its last print edition, and the newspaper will continue online.

Guerriero told The Washington Examiner that staff cuts are in sight, and that the magazine will probably retain columnists like Ann Coulter and Patrick J. Buchanan.
