Hurricane Irene: What Are The Best Ways To Prepare?

As Hurricane Irene takes aim, business owners up and down the East Coast are hoping for the best -- but if they're smart, preparing for the worst.

"Eighty percent of small businesses that are not up and running within 10 days of a natural disaster go out of business within a year," warned HuffPost Small Business blogger Gene Marks while appearing Friday on MyFoxPhilly.

So what's the best way to make sure your business isn't a casualty left in Irene's wake? Marks suggests taking care of several crucial tasks ahead of the hurricane, including getting all your insurance documents in order, paying important bills in advance and ensuring that employees have a remote connection from home.
