Converting Passion in to Pounds

I spend each morning trying to think outside of the box in order to raise a million pounds for British charities. My latest goal is to raise £250,000 for Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford. When I celebrated turning 30 I wanted to collect thirty auction prizes in order to raise a minimum of £3,000. This was the start of an amazing journey. I have been lucky enough to have received support from celebrities, businesses and entrepreneurs. Eddie Redmayne OBE supported me in the year that he won the Oscar. Peter de Savary has donated holidays at his private villa in the West Indies and David Sullivan donated £7,000. It’s impossible to list the hundreds of donors and the marvellous donations & prizes.

I have to think outside of the box in order to raise money because there are lots of worthy causes and thousands of unsung heroes raising money & awareness on a daily basis. The challenge is to find a USP in order to stand out from the crowd. You’ve got to find your own voice. I just aim to create extraordinary auction prizes which can be sold at various events. The main event is the annual Haven House Ball. A charity ball is for most charities a perfect opportunity to raise money and give their supporters an unforgettable evening.

With over twelve years of experience I dedicate my spare time and energy in order to make a positive difference. Self motivation is critical because rejection happens on a daily basis. People are inundated with donation requests so don’t be surprised if you don’t receive an immediate response. Persistence pays off. Success doesn’t happen overnight but your efforts will be rewarded. Remember be patient, be persistent and remain positive. You’ve got to create your own luck!
