This Iggy Azalea Makeup Tutorial Proves Why This Rapper's So Fancy

You can't hear the name Iggy Azalea without busting out "First thing's first, I'm the realest," or better yet, you just sing the "Fancy" chorus that's not even Iggy, but Charli XCX. But whatever you do, you probably only know a few things about the Australia-born rapper and if anything, you know that she pretty much has her makeup game on lock.

Iggy's single "Change Your Life" has a music video that shows a variety of outfit and makeup transformations. But none of them even touch the classic white ensemble, which Iggy amps up with an unexpected French twist hairdo, popping red lipstick and dazzling gold jewelry. So for this week's Beauty Screen, we knew we had to recreate this breakout star's best look yet for summer.

Thankfully, HuffPost Lifestyle Fellow (and Iggy fan) Carly Ledbetter volunteered to be transformed into Ms. Azalea.

Hair: The French twist is one of those hairstyles that has edge and grace. First, we sprayed Garnier Volumizing Spray all over Carly's hair and dried the roots vertically with a blow dryer for extra volume. Then, we made a deep part and set aside the top portion to later create the pompadour. After slicking the sides of Carly's hair back with Pureology Liquid Wax, we used a small tooth comb to twist the hair into itself, starting low to ensure sure we had a sort of cocoon effect.

Once we secured the spine of the French twist with hair pins (not to be confused with bobby pins), we continued to twist the remaining hair into an open roll, by wrapping the strands around a finger. We spritzed on Big Sexy Hair Spray so the 'do would stay together. Finally, we teased and smoothed out the pomp, eventually tucking it into the crown of Carly's hair.

Makeup: Out of all of the makeup looks in the video "Change Your Life," this is Iggy's most classic and glamorous look. For the base, we started with Maybelline Dream BB Cream in Light and layered with Inglot HD Illuminizing Pressed Powder in 402. Afterwards, we highlighted and slightly contoured Carly's cheekbones with NARS Multiple in Orgasm (mixed with Sonia Kashuk Highlighter Stick in Persian Sunset). We also swept Inglot Freedom System HD Sculpting Powder along her jawbone.

For the eyes, we applied a light gold just to make her eyelashes pop. Then we added a few single lashes from MAC Cosmetics' 30 Lash set, attaching them to the upper and outer corners of Carly's eyes -- finishing with black mascara.

But the real artistry came with the lips (well, other than the hair, of course). First, we filled in her lips with Make Up For Ever Lip Liner in Red to create a barrier so the other textures didn't feather or bleed. Next, we added a satin lipstick like Dolce and Gabbana Classic Cream in Scarlett. Carly's red pout was topped off with gloss from Mary Kay's Nourishine line in Rock 'n Roll Red, which definitely rocked.
