I Am Love: A Mayor Koch Review

I rarely like slow-moving films that take their time setting the scene for more adventurous or violent moments to come. But I was comfortable watching this movie, which is beautiful and well worth watching.

I rarely like slow-moving films that take their time setting the scene for more adventurous or violent moments to come. But I was comfortable watching this movie, which emphasized the lifestyle of wealthy Italians, especially beautiful women exhibiting their extraordinary clothes, homes and amenities.

The cast includes a half-dozen or so interesting characters, the foremost of whom is Emma Recchi (Tilda Swinton), the young matriarch born in Russia who married a very wealthy Italian man of social standing, Edoardo Recchi (Gabriele Ferzetti). The eventual impact of Emma's betrayal of her husband -- with her son's best friend no less -- is the major story here and is beautiful and well worth watching. Check out my review below.
